My Why | Empower growth through identity
Hi, I'm Davina. Connecting brands with people through the lens of identity has been my work for over 20 years as a consumer goods and retail marketer. In that time I've successfully led marketing teams, insights and innovation across Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
But amidst the focus on delivering success for others and becoming a FT working parent I began to lose my sense of self. Lessons learned in leading the turnaround of a troubled brand weighed down by scientific claims was also a turning point for me. In connecting people back to its ‘why’, internal belief and consumer love for the brand began to return as did my passion for the 'art' of marketing, understanding and fostering human connection.
That brand and my personal journey has brought me back to the power of purpose. We are wired to connect on the ‘soft’ stuff. But what is often under-valued is the measurable impact it can have on engagement, long term commercial results and ultimately our communities. It’s the 'art' that too often gets lost to the science of the how and what.
Supporting business from ‘outside in’ is from where I can keep perspective, stay connected, and bring what my son would declare, 'my super-powers’ – strategic know-how, commercial pragmatism, and an intuitive nature - to the table to drive growth.

THE BOWR is inspired by the native Australian Satin Bowerbird, known for collecting objects to create elaborate bowers and bold displays of colour to attract a mate. An intuitive marketer, the Bowerbird embodies the principles of embracing uniqueness, connecting with an audience and aligning actions to purpose.
Built on the values of character, connection and community, I strive to deliver marketing expertise that places a holistic value proposition at the heart. Because when you get under the skin of what you stand for, everything else falls into place.
